What it costs

What does a repair usually cost?

Every call starts at the same flat $80 diagnostic, credited toward the work once you approve it. The bands below cover part and labor together.

Typical repair bands, parts and labor together.
What gets put right Typical range
Diagnostic visit $80 flat
Igniter or spark module replacement $210–$500
Burner valve or orifice service $220–$690
Oven thermostat or temperature sensor $190–$520
Convection fan or motor $260–$660
Control board or touch panel $440–$1,050
Door hinge, glass or seal $200–$690

A range is the honest answer before the panel is off; the firm figure goes in the written estimate, before anything is ordered. 90 days labor · 365 days parts. The whole table, and what the diagnostic buys.

Questions these notes get asked

Who writes these, and where do they come from?
The people who do the work, off calls we actually took. Where we are not certain of a mechanism we describe the symptom instead, because an invented model number or error code is worse than an honest description of what the appliance is doing.
Can I fix any of this myself?
Some of it, and we say so rather than sell a visit for it. An igniter still clicking after the flame is up is often a wet electrode and a paper towel. We are equally plain about the faults that are not worth opening up at home, and gas is top of that list.
What does it cost if I do need somebody out?
A flat $80 diagnostic covers the visit and the diagnosis anywhere in the service area, credited toward the repair once you approve the work. Nothing is ordered before you have a written estimate in front of you.

  • The hood pulled almost nothing even on high. He measured the run and found a crushed flexible section inside the soffit from the original build, replaced it with rigid duct, and the difference is obvious.

  • A hairline crack had opened at the edge of the glass and the panel began faulting. He sourced the correct glass top, fitted it without rushing, and resealed the perimeter so nothing can work its way under.

  • The hood had begun to howl on the top two speeds. Its blower wheel was loaded with grease down one side. He cleaned and rebalanced the wheel, then replaced baffle filters that had warped out of shape.
