Who publishes this site

Hearth & Range Service Co., an independent appliance repair company working in northeast Florida. Using this site means accepting the terms below. If you do not accept them, the site is still free to read — simply do not rely on it.

Independence

Hearth & Range Service Co. is an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Wolf or its parent company. All brand names and model numbers are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the appliances we service.

We name Wolf and Sub-Zero Group, Inc. on this site for one purpose: to identify the equipment we repair. No manufacturer logo, typeface or colour scheme appears anywhere here, and nothing on this site should be read as a manufacturer endorsement, appointment or franchise. The only credential we assert anywhere is EPA Section 608, which is a federal certification held by our technicians and carries no manufacturer relationship of any kind.

The technical writing

The articles and appliance pages describe how this equipment behaves and how the faults we see most often present themselves. They are written from what we find in the field, and they are general by necessity: your appliance, its installation, its age and its water supply are specific, and no page written in advance can diagnose them.

Treat everything here as information rather than instruction. Anything involving gas, mains electricity, plumbed water or the movement of a heavy built-in appliance should be done by somebody competent to do it. If you ever smell gas that does not clear within a second or two of ignition, shut the appliance off at the supply and call your gas utility — not us, and not later.

Prices, estimates and the work

The $129 diagnostic fee stated on this site is our standard fee inside the published service area, and it is credited toward the repair when you approve the work. Repair prices are quoted per job in a written estimate after the diagnosis, because a price for a fault nobody has examined is a guess. Nothing on this site is a binding quotation for a repair.

Published figures — the fee, the hours, the warranty terms, the service radius — can change. The version on the site at the time you read it is the current one, and the estimate you sign governs the job.

Warranty

Labor is warranted for 90 days and parts for 365 days. We fit genuine OEM parts. The full terms, including what falls outside them, are on the warranty page. That warranty is given by us on work we performed. It is not a manufacturer warranty and does not extend, replace or administer one.

Local facts and figures

Drive distances are road distances from Fruit Cove, given as practical estimates on the route we would actually take rather than surveyed measurements, and traffic will move the minutes either way. We never publish a straight-line radius as though it were a drive.

Descriptions of neighbourhoods, housing vintages and local weather on this site are general observations about the area rather than statements about your particular house. We do not publish a figure we cannot point to a source for, and where we do not have one we say so instead of estimating.

Copyright

The text, illustrations and design of this site are ours. Quote a paragraph with a link if it is useful to you; republishing pages wholesale is not welcome. Brand names and model numbers mentioned anywhere on the site are the property of their respective owners and appear only to identify equipment.

Liability

This site is provided as it stands. We take care to be accurate and we correct mistakes when we find them, but we do not warrant that every page is complete or current, and we are not liable for what follows from acting on general information without having the appliance looked at. Our responsibility for the repair work itself is set out in the warranty and in your written estimate.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida.
