Pricing and warranty

A $129 flat diagnostic fee covers the visit and the diagnosis, and it is credited toward the repair if you go ahead with the work. You get a written estimate before anything is replaced.

What the diagnostic covers

The fee pays for the part of the job that has no parts in it: getting to you and working out what is actually wrong. On built-in cooking appliances that second part is most of the value. Anyone can fit a bake element. Knowing whether the element is the fault, or whether the board driving it is the fault, is the difference between one repair and two.

It is $129 flat anywhere inside the service area. It does not change with the drive, the appliance or how awkward the diagnosis turns out to be, and it is credited toward the repair when you approve the work. If you decide not to go ahead, the fee covers the visit and the written diagnosis and there is nothing further to pay.

The estimate

You get it in writing, and you get it before anything is ordered or replaced. It covers parts, labor and what the diagnosis found, so you are deciding with the whole picture in front of you rather than approving a number over the phone.

Sometimes the estimate is a recommendation not to repair. A built-in appliance with several tired components and an expensive board is occasionally not worth the money, and we would rather say so. We are an independent shop, so nobody is measuring us on parts sold.

Parts and warranty

We fit genuine oem parts. Labor is warranted for 90 days and parts for 365 days. We fit genuine OEM parts. The parts warranty covers the part itself; the labor warranty covers the work we did to fit it. If something we replaced fails inside those windows, we come back and put it right.

What we do not do

We do not offer 24-hour or emergency service. Our hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm and Saturday 9am – 4pm, closed Sunday, and we would rather be clear about that now than have you discover it at nine in the evening.

We do not quote repairs sight unseen. A price given over the phone for a fault nobody has looked at is a guess, and guesses get revised upward once the panel is off. The diagnostic exists so that the number you are given is a real one.

We do not work on refrigeration. Wolf builds no refrigerators — that is Sub-Zero, a sister brand under the same parent — so a refrigerator or wine storage call is not one we can take, however much the two appliances share a kitchen.

And we do not charge extra for distance. We cover 40 miles by road from Fruit Cove in St. Johns County. Every distance we publish is drive distance, measured on the road you would actually take, not a straight line on a map.

Book a diagnostic visit

Tell us the appliance and the symptom when you call and we will bring what the diagnosis is likely to need.
