Most of our work here is fitting, ductwork and wiring. ## What a Mandarin call usually turns out to be Across enough visits a pattern emerges, and in 32223 it is consistent enough to say out loud: more often than not the appliance is fine and the installation around it is not. So the order of a Mandarin diagnosis is deliberate. The supply gets checked before the appliance — the circuit behind a built-in, whether it is dedicated or shared, and the gas supply at the appliance rather than at the meter. Electrical supply that was never upgraded. A dual-fuel range wants a dedicated 240-volt circuit. An all-gas range still needs power for the spark module and the oven control, and in these houses that outlet is frequently shared with half the counter. Intermittent faults that look like a failing control board sometimes turn out to be a circuit doing too much work. Ductwork inherited from the previous kitchen. A modern professional hood bolted onto a duct run laid in 1974 will never perform to its rating no matter how good the blower is. We would rather tell you that than sell you a blower. ## The river side and the storms Mandarin is not a coastal ZIP and we do not see the salt-air corrosion here that dominates work in Ponte Vedra Beach or at the Beaches. What Mandarin does share with everywhere else in this metro is roughly 68 thunderstorm days a year, and the control boards pay for them. Surge damage is worth understanding because it almost never looks like electrical damage. It looks like a bake element that works sometimes, a convection mode that has quietly stopped functioning while everything else is fine, or a display reading one thing while the oven does another.
